Kylie Blake is a senior double major in Dance and Public Relations at the University of Alabama. A graduate of Morris County’s Academy of Performing Arts, she previously trained at the New Jersey School of Ballet and performed in high school musicals as principal ensemble member, Dance Captain, and Assistant Choreographer. She has received National Honorable Mention for the National Honors Society for Dance Arts Award and the New Jersey Governor’s Award in Arts Education, and was named Outstanding Junior for the Department of Theatre and Dance at the University of Alabama last year for her commitment and contribution to the dance department.
While at Alabama, Kylie has performed in numerous productions, including Alabama Repertory Dance Theatre, Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase, Yonder Contemporary Dance Company, Dance Alabama!, #SICKMOVES, Dystant by Mary Payne, Black Arts Experience, and the MFA Dance Concert. She has choreographed works for Dance Alabama!, Yonder, #SICKMOVES, and the Emerging Choreographers’ Showcase, with her choreography presented at the North Alabama Dance Festival and Alabama Dance Festival. Kylie also studied abroad in Scotland, touring with Yonder at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival as a dancer, choreographer, and Vice President.
She has participated in master classes with artists such as Tracy Inman (Alvin Ailey), Eldar Aliev (Mariinsky Theatre), Christopher Stuart (Alabama Ballet), Daphne Marcelle (The Lion King on Broadway), and Duane Lee Holland, Jr., among others. Kylie served as Marketing Manager for Dance Alabama!, Vice President for Yonder Contemporary Dance Company, and is currently the Director of External Affairs for the Dance Honors Society of Alabama, as well as Student Liaison for the dance department. A passionate and hardworking artist, Kylie continues to pursue her career in dance and choreography with dedication and enthusiasm.
